Pantry Organization from Dollar Tree

Is there anything more satisfying than a well-organized pantry? How about a budget-friendly (or even cheap) Pantry Organization? Picture this: neatly stacked shelves, ingredients arranged perfectly, and everything easily accessible… All for $25.00!  If you’re on a mission to transform your pantry into a haven of organization without breaking the bank, look no further than Dollar Tree. Yes, you read that right—the treasure trove for budget finds has an impressive array of organizers that can work wonders in decluttering and beautifying your pantry and each for only $1.25. I have three Dollar Tree stores within a few miles and each store has slightly different inventory, so if one store is out of a certain size, I can quickly check the others.  Read on for cheap pantry organization inspiration!

Let’s Get Started

The very first step in your budget-friendly pantry organization journey is to empty the pantry. Yes, completely empty!  Every. Single. Item.  this not only allows you to check the expiration dates but also helps you to inventory what you have and to group things that should be together.  I had a few canned goods from 2017 and a canister of panko from 2014 hidden in the back of the pantry.. so embarrassing!  This step is crucial to your new pantry organization life!

1. Basket Bonanza

Let’s start with the budget-friendly pantry organization basics: baskets. Dollar Tree offers an assortment of sizes, shapes, and colors to suit your pantry organization needs. These baskets are perfect for grouping similar items—think snacks, canned goods, spices, or baking essentials. The beauty of baskets lies in their ability to contain items while adding a touch of aesthetic appeal to your shelves. Plus, they’re easy to clean and versatile, making them a must-have in any cheap pantry organization overhaul.  I have wire shelving in my pantry so the flat low-profile baskets work great to keep everything visible, but also keep items from falling over.  Dollar Tree has an assortment of colors to choose from like mint, blush, and gray, or a more masculine color pallet of gray, black, and navy.  I chose to stick with white to match the wire shelving in my pantry.

2. Stackable Solutions

Another way to maximize your vertical space is with stackable organizers from Dollar Tree. Whether it’s stackable shelves, bins, or racks, these gems help you make the most of every inch of your pantry. Use them to separate different types of goods or create multi-tiered storage for canned foods or beverages. They’re a game-changer for smaller spaces or for those who want to keep everything in sight and within reach. I use the soda can organizers for my canned goods.  Dollar Tree has several containers designed to stack on top of one another if you have the height available.  Yet another space spacer idea!

3. Labeling Made Easy

Labels are the unsung heroes of pantry organization for some people, but definitely not required.  Dollar Tree offers an array of labeling solutions, from adhesive labels to chalkboard stickers.  Just look in the teacher/school aisle!  Use them to identify contents, and expiration dates, or to create a uniform look across all your containers. Not only do labels keep things organized, but they also add a charming touch to your pantry décor.  I chose to just write on the glass jars of the flour and sugars, to easily identify those items, but opted out of labeling the pasta. You could also print out sticker labels for your jars.  I opted for the low-profile baskets which don’t require labeling, but if you choose the taller baskets, you may want to add a label for quickly identifying what’s in the container. However, this is completely optional.

4. Clear Container Craze

Investing in clear containers certainly doesn’t have to break the bank. Dollar Tree’s selection of clear storage bins or containers is a budget-friendly alternative for decanting pantry staples like flour, sugar, pasta, or cereals. Opting for clear containers not only keeps your pantry visually appealing but also allows you to quickly see when supplies are running low. Dollar Tree offers both plastic and glass options.  I prefer the look of glass but also appreciate the plastic containers with kiddos.  It’s not necessary to label the clear containers since you can see what’s in them.

5. Door, Floor, and Wall Wonder

Don’t forget about the door or wall space in your pantry! Dollar Tree offers hooks, adhesive organizers, and over-the-door storage solutions perfect for holding spices, towels, or small utensils. Make use of these often-overlooked areas to free up shelf space and keep frequently used items easily accessible.  I also use large wooden crates on wheels on the floor to easily access overstock items and things we don’t use often.  You can also use Dollar Tree’s extra-large baskets here or their round laundry baskets.  I also have two large spice racks on the wall to save space on the shelves.
