There are a lot of things that go into starting a blog.  Coming up with a blog name, choosing a theme, hosting, and adding plugins so your blog is nice and pretty.  But in addition to making your blog look pretty and be functional, it needs to be legal.

Believe it or not, there a people (may I say trolls?) who search the web for websites that are not legally compliant and sue them.  For lots of money.  Just because.  Crazy, right?! Don’t be their next victim.  Protect your blog and your investment!

The main 3 legal pages you MUST have on your blog are a Terms & Conditions page, a Disclaimer page, and Privacy Policy.  These are the minimum.  You may need others if you contract with others for services, such as guest bloggers, or do consulting services, but a Privacy Page, Disclaimer Page, and Terms & Conditions are the 3 that will get you started.

After doing some extensive research on how to write these legal pages, I was convinced this was not the way to go.  I am in no way, shape, or form and attorney, nor did I want to pretend to be one.  Or hire one for $800 for that matter.  After taking a blogging course that recommended using legal templates (created by an attorney), I was sold.  Not only are they super easy to use, but are high quality and affordable!

The Starter Legal Bundle by Amira, A Self Guru, includes these 3 main templates.  I was easily able to download and fill out the templates and post them to my website in about 30 minutes.  Not only is Amira an attorney by trade, she’s also a blogger.   I  think that gives her some creditability that she knows a thing or two about blogs and legal stuff. 🙂

You can purchase each template separately,  or you can purchase templates in bundles, which is what I did.  I went with the basic  legal bundle for bloggers, but she also offers larger premium bundles should you need something more substantial.  The best part of purchasing these templates, is that they are yours forever.  So if you have another website, you can use the templates for each one simply by updating the information.  Super easy!
